Spa & Nail Technician Student
If you aren’t failing, you aren’t learning. Obviously don’t fail at everything, but the point is that you need to mess up to learn from your mistakes and grow!
What made you choose this career?
I chose this career because I have always loved to care for other people and connect with others. I have really found it to be rewarding.
When do you graduate?
I graduated July 17th, 2021!!
What’s the most valuable thing you took from The Style Academy?
I think the most valuable thing I learnt is that “it’s all about the way we make people feel”, if you go into a service with a negative headspace it is likely they won’t come back to you as energy transfers. This is a personal service industry and people trust us with their bodies. Having a positive outlook goes a far way!!
What keeps you motivated to push forward?
I am constantly learning new things from my peers and taking part in different classes to further my education. It motivates me to be better and prove to myself what I can do!
Who has been your biggest inspiration and why (in or outside of the industry)?
I would have to say Leanne Brown and Krista Braithwaite have given me so much inspiration in the past six months. They are amazing educators and I am fortunate to work for them and continue to learn everyday.
What are your favourite services to offer?
I love to do pedis! Just something about them always gets me in a good mood! (Probably because I love getting pedis)
What do you look forward to most having chosen this career?
I look forward to building my clientele and connecting with all different types of people!
What is the one piece of advice you wish someone would have given you?
I wish someone had told me that if you aren’t failing, you aren’t learning. Obviously don’t fail at everything, but the point is that you need to mess up to learn from your mistakes and grow.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I can’t wait to come back and learn more!!
